Dead Men Skating: A Lost Season

For many reasons here at RP this 2019-20 season has been an extremely difficult one to get excited about and gin up any energy to comment on. Last night's 9-3 loss to the Tampa Bay Lightning marks a new low for this team. This game is a bright neon sign flashing that the Rangers have checked out, the Blueshirts have left the building, and this is now a completely lost season. The 2019-20 New York Rangers are dead men skating.

Brett Cyrgalis at the NY Post pounds some nails in the coffin:
Embarrassing doesn’t do it justice. Not even close.

This was historically inept, one of the worst games the Rangers have played in at least a decade. Officially, it was a 9-3 loss to the Lightning here on Thursday night, proving that these young Blueshirts are still plumbing the depth of how bad their bad can be...
What's next? Sadly, the opposite of love is not hate, but apathy. Wake us up when the dead have risen.
