Scandinavian Delights

The Rangers beat a good team last night, but did it the hard way. Twice they blew one goal leads and had to go into the shootout to come up with a win over the Kings. They did it on shootout goals by Christensen, 4-4 in shootouts and Zuccarello, 5-6 in shootouts. Then there was Lundqvist who came up with his career 200th win and is 4-2 in shootouts this year.

The Rangers got goals from Callahan (15), Gaborik (17) and Dubinsky (20) but couldn't hold two one goal leads. The competition stiffens for the Rangers with games coming up against the Devils, tonight at The Rock and Sunday at home against the Flyers. The Devils are on fire with a 13-1-2 run in their last sixteen games. What looked like the impossible dream a month ago now looks like it could be one of the great comebacks in hockey.

The Devils are twelve points behind eight place Carolina with a game in hand and sixteen points behind the Rangers with two games in hand. Plus, the Devils have two more game against the Rangers. Tonight is more than a trap game. It is the game.
