Inmates Running Siberian Hockey Asylum

---
Inmates Running Siberia Hockey AsylumThank goodness the Rangers have Nurse Ratched Renney giving them their lithium.

But, has the mercurial one, Jaromir Jagr, begun his descent into hockey hell? Laurie at Beyond The Blueshirts blog is chronically the chaos that surrounds Jagr's KHL Siberian team, Avangard Omsk.

The team got off to a bad start, winning just 2 of their first 6 games. This despite all the money the local government had spent on importing Jagr and remaking the team.

The head of the Russian Province of Omsk, governor Leonid Polezhaev, convened an emergency meeting of the Avangard board of directors. They fired head coach Sergei Gersonsky and senior coach Igor Zhilinsky. They then turned the team over to interim coach Igor Nikitin and his merry band of hockey inmates.

In the meantime, the [Russian Sports, sports.ru] site reports that Dmitry Ryabikin, Jaromir Jagr, Anton Kuryanov and Alexander Svitov are acting as informal assistants to 35-year old interim coach Igor Nikitin until a new coach can be hired. Is it just me, or does that sound like a recipe for disaster?...
